Not drinking enough liquids could give you dry mouth (or reduced saliva), which in turn gives you bad breath. So water—at least eight glasses of it—is your best bet to avoid having bad breath.
Top of the list would be garlic, onions, and anything spicy. These contain significant amounts of sulphuric compounds which fast-track the growth of bacteria in your mouth.
Brushing your teeth takes out most of the deep-seated bacteria that cause you to have bad breath. Remember to include your tongue in the brushing.
Trying to keep going on an empty stomach won’t do you any good; it will even add to your bad-breath woes. When you get hungry and stay hungry, stomach acids build up and eventually work their way up.
See your dentist every three months, at least
In some cases, chronic bad breath is caused by dental problems. Regularly visiting your dentist greatly reduces the risk of a dental problem. If, however, your teeth and gums are in an immaculate state, your dentist will be able to narrow down the other possible causes of your halitosis.
