5 MEDICINES MUST-HAVES FOR EMERGENCIES

When someone among your family or friends gets sick, the ideal response is to bring them to the doctor so the problem is immediately solved. 1. Aspirin

2. Paracetamol

If ever you do get a mild fever, you can’t just brush that off with only water. At the very least, have 12 paracetamol tablets and a bottle of liquid paracetamol in your kit. Why the two variants? You never know when your child will also get a fever. It’s better to have medicine for fever and headache prepared for you little ones as well. When it comes to the tablet form, be sure to take 1 every 4 hours. If the fever persists after 3 days, then you go to the doctor.

3. Ibuprofen

Aside from the fact that ibuprofen also deals with fever, ibuprofen is an effective anti-inflammatory painkiller that reduces muscle aches and sprains (muscle pain is one of its symptoms). Take note of this medicine, women, you’ve got to carry this in your bags as well because it greatly relieves period pain.

4. Antiseptics

Gotten sudden flesh wounds that bleed? It is a must for you to carry antiseptics to stop blood loss and start healing the wound. There are 3 kinds of antiseptic solutions you may use: isopropyl alcohol, betadine, and hydrogen peroxide.
With isopropyl alcohol (or rubbing alcohol), you might feel a painful sting the moment the solution comes in contact with the wound, but that’s a sign that it’s working. Rubbing alcohol instantly kills all bacteria upon contact.
Hydrogen peroxide doesn’t sting as much when applied. A sign of it working are bubbles that froth on the wounded area. That means it is cleaning the bruise/eradicating the microbes.
Betadine is the least painful of the two, but it leaves a brownish-red stain on the skin due to its color and viscosity.

5. Maintenance Meds
